Lazy Daisy flower card

My card for Mum on Mothers’ Day this year (15 March in the UK) is a beaded Lazy Daisy embroidery.  She doesn’t use the interwebs, so I’m safe talking about it now!

I got the embroidery  idea from Jane Brocket’s lovely book, The Gentle Art of Stitching, and added the beads for some sparkle.

It’s very easy to do.  All you need are some embroidery thread, a scrap of canvas or heavy fabric, some beads and a card blank.

I struggled to get even petals, and found the easiest way for me is to stitch opposite pairs of petals in order.

If this is a new stitch for you, there is a very clear tutorial here.

To attach the embroidery to the card, I like to use double sided tape, then stitched it with my machine.  I was going to suggest just using the tape, but it fell off overnight!  I make the mistakes so you don’t have to….
