A few of my favourite things…

The Christmas Craft fair season is almost done – phew! – and I thought you might like to see some of the beautiful handmade things I’ve come across on my travels. My favourite fair was at a local village hall, the Blackborough Christmas Artisan Market.

My good friend and neighbour Anna Rayment wove these willow wreaths with Liberty bows (she sews too!) . I love the way she has combined the lawn with a plain wool backing.  Mr Doodle has just commissioned a willow stag’s head for his office from Anna – see her link for a picture.

The gorgeous Helen of Kindred Rose was one of the organisers of the fair and I especially liked her applique robin picture.

Helen is featured in Country Living magazine this month, with some great pictures of her shed/studio.

Then there were the beautiful macarons from Frandie Macaron –

And finally, these crazy singing nun cake decorations…..

I’m looking forward to some ‘fun’ (rather than work) sewing this week.  I’m planning a long sleeved version of the Colette Jasmine, in the same Liberty lawn as one of Anna’s wreath bows, the black one.

  1. It looks like a great fair – I love the robbin applique too and that is such a pretty way to display Macarons! I’m in awe of people who manage to be productive enough to produce things for a craft fair! One of my ‘one day’ dreams. Hand Made Jane and Lucky Lucille have both recently done fairs too and I love reading about them. I hope yours were really succesfull for you and the other vendors!
