Summer sewing plans revisited

It’s time to get realistic – it’s not exactly hot in the UK this summer.  So I think it’s time to revise my plans for summer dresses, and make some clothes I will be able to wear!

Inspired by many lovely versions, but especially Ginger Makes, I bought the Tiny Pocket Tank pattern from Grainline yesterday.  Liberty pink and grey rose version half done, and plans for a green jersey one next.

Next up, this hot patterns top.  Maybe in teal.

I’ve signed up for the Couture Dress class at Craftsy (huge reductions on classes at the moment).  It comes with this Vogue pattern, and the black flowered cotton I found at a vintage fair last month would be lovely.  I’m thinking the sleeveless version with the full skirt.

And another challenge, I think this top is beautiful, but it will stretch me.  I have some blue Liberty fabric, and some navy French vintage crepe (but I’ll have to be pretty sure of myself before I cut into that!).

Finally, Mr Doodle bought me this batik for my birthday (I know, he’s a keeper!).  It’s a heavy cotton so needs a structured pattern.  Maybe a Sewaholic Cambie dress, or the slim version of the Vogue pattern.

Should keep me busy!  Have your sewing plans changed this summer?

  1. Such a lot of potential here! Id love to know if the Craftsy classes are any good? Also – those fabrics are delicious!

  2. Oh, your Liberty tank is looking great! And that batik is amazing– great job, Mr. Doodle! 🙂

  3. That Craftsy couture dress class looks good. I’m tempted… Also love the look of that Hot Patterns Deco Vibe blouse and dress. Something else to tempt me.
