Jubilee hairclips tutorial

Decorate your (or someone else’s) head for the Jubilee!

You will need: scraps of red, white and blue fabric, iron on interfacing (optional), pinking shears, hairclip, button, needle and thread.  Also circular objects to draw around.

I like to iron interfacing onto the fabric before cutting out, but you don’t have to.

Cut out four circles in decreasing sizes, using pinking shears.  For a child, the largest circle I use is 5cm diameter.  The one I’m wearing is 6cm.

Stack up, and sew together, then sew a button in the centre.

Sew the hairclip to the back.

Done!

I’ve also made these using Liberty fabric and vintage buttons and beads, which look so pretty.
